Frida Kahlo was an internationally recognized artist, who was also a passionate political activist. She used her art to portray social and cultural realities, advocate for indigenous rights, and challenge societal norms. Kahlo was a lifelong member of the Mexican Communist Party, critiqued capitalism and participated in anti-imperialist protests, even attending a demonstration just days before her death. Her activism extended to feminism, indigenous pride, disability justice, and LGBTQ+ rights.
